Automatic Terrarium Dripper & Substrate Hydration System

Automatic Terrarium Dripper & Substrate Hydration System

$11.00

Many arboreal reptiles and invertebrates—including chameleons, crested geckos, day geckos, and tropical tree frogs—instinctively do not recognize still water in a bowl. In the wild, they hydrate by drinking fresh, moving droplets from foliage.

The Automatic Terrarium Dripper System replicates natural rain drips and dew, providing a steady, stimulating water source that promotes proper hydration and kidney health. Outfitted with a generous 1300 ml reservoir, this dual-purpose system functions both as an elevated arboreal drinking station and a slow-release substrate moistener for bioactive tropical enclosures.

Designed with dual filtration, water passes through an inlet stone filter in the reservoir and dispenses through a porous ceramic dropper tip, ensuring clean, debris-free water with every drop. With its built-in hanging handle, heavy-duty suction mount, and optional precision flow controller, it eliminates the guesswork of daily misting and keeps your enclosure's humidity steady and stress-free.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Promotes Natural Drinking Behaviors: Delivers a visible, rhythmic drip over enclosure leaves or bark, triggering the drinking reflexes of chameleons, geckos, and tree frogs that ignore standing water dishes.
  • Dual-Stage Water Purification: Features a weighted porous stone inlet filter in the reservoir and a conical ceramic drip head to purify and clean drinking water while resisting clogs from mineral buildup.
  • Substrate Humidification Function: The ceramic drip cone can be partially buried into coconut coir, cypress mulch, or bioactive soil blends, steadily wicking moisture to sustain deep-layer humidity and nourish live plants without flooding the bottom.
  • Large 1300 ml Reservoir: Generous capacity provides days of consistent hydration, making it ideal for daily peace of mind or weekend travel.
  • Strong Glass Suction Mount: The drip nozzle secures firmly to glass or smooth acrylic terrarium walls with an included heavy-duty suction bracket.
  • Flexible Placement Options: The main reservoir can rest flat on top of screen mesh or hang securely using the integrated folding top handle.

Available Configurations

  • Upgraded Model (with Adjustable Flow Controller): Includes an in-line roller clamp mechanism on the 60 cm silicone tube, allowing you to fine-tune the exact drip rate—from an occasional slow drop to a steady rainfall trickle.
  • Standard Model (without Flow Controller): Provides continuous, natural gravity/wicking flow through the porous ceramic tip.

Specifications & What's Included

  • Reservoir Capacity: 1300 ml (approx. 44 fl oz)
  • Tubing Length: 60 cm (~23.6") flexible airline tubing
  • Materials: Durable food-grade plastic, silicone tubing, and porous ceramic dispensing cone
  • Reservoir Style: Wide-mouth clear jug with threaded blue lid and carrying/hanging handle

Included Components:

  • 1 × 1300 ml Water Reservoir with Lid & Handle
  • 1 × 60 cm Silicone Delivery Tube
  • 1 × Weighted Inlet Filter Stone
  • 1 × Ceramic Drip Tip with Suction Mount
  • (Upgraded Model only) 1 × In-line Roller Flow Rate Regulator

Quick Setup & Priming Guide

  1. Prime the Ceramic Tip: Unscrew or remove the top green cap of the ceramic dripper and submerge the cone in a bowl of clean water for 2–3 minutes until saturated.
  2. Fill & Seal: Fill the dripper cone with water, replace the top cap securely, and attach the delivery tubing.
  3. Position Reservoir: Fill the 1300 ml reservoir with dechlorinated water. Place it on top of the enclosure mesh or hang it higher than the terrarium drip tip to establish natural gravity siphon pressure.
  4. Mount the Drip Head: Press the suction cup firmly onto your inside glass wall, aiming the tip directly over broadleaf foliage, a branch, or a drainage basin.
  5. (If using for substrate moisture, simply insert the tip into the substrate bed near your microclimate hideout.)
  6. Adjust Flow: If using the upgraded model, roll the blue wheel on the flow regulator to dial in your pet's ideal drip speed.
